GEORGIAN SOIL & CROP
COMPACTION DAY

What is a Compaction Event?

An event run in partnership between OMAFA, OSCIA staff, and a local host committee, Compaction Days demonstrate the impact of farm equipment on soil compaction in real time before an audience. Pressure sensors buried in soil show vehicle impact on a large presentation screen and commentators share background on the equipment, tire configuration, total weight and more. Equipment will show the effect of various tire configurations and loading styles. A wide range of equipment will be included in the 2026 line-up - everything from combines and grain buggys to forage harvesting equipment to potato trucks!

Compaction days integrate other complimentary educational content too - stay tuned to hear about the additional demonstrations planned!

The 2026 Compaction Day is being organized by a committee from Georgian Central Region Soil & Crop Improvement Association. The Georgian Central Region includes local soil and crop organizations in Bruce, Dufferin, Grey and North Simcoe Counties.

Please stay tuned for more information about the event, including sponsorship and exhibitorship opportunities, as they will be posted soon. Thanks for your interest!
